2010 Highlights

Thanks to those of you that left comments on my first post :-)   As promised here are some of my highlights from 2010…

Andy & Emma’s Wedding – Halton Baptist Church, Hastings and Clock Barn Hall, Godalming

A lovely summer’s day in June with a church by the seaside! Andy & Emma took an hour out after their ceremony to have some photos around the picturesque old town of Hastings with the sea, boats, fish huts and… a fire engine! The West Hill Lift had broken down and the fire brigade were there to help fix it giving the newlyweds an opportunity to get a picture in the fire engine.   It’s always great when couples have some timeout from the main party for some relaxed and intimate shots without the glare of guests and who knows what might happen!

Keith & Charlotte’s Engagement Shoot and Wedding – Christ Church Blacklands, Hastings and Leeford Place Hotel, Battle

This shoot was really fun and for two people so anxious about having their photo taken they soon relaxed and enjoyed it!  We got some fantastic shots including some with Hastings Pier in the background which are particularly special now as, very sadly, the pier burnt down in October 2010

The church was absolutely stunning and the vicar gave us a free roam – a photographers dream – not all churches allow photographers to move around freely during the service.

Kym & Emma’s Wedding – St Mary the Virgin, Willingdon and Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club, Eastbourne

Emma was the hairdresser and guest at one the weddings I did in 2009.  Kym and Emma were a great couple to work with and we got some lovely shots around the harbour but here is my favourite reflection from the day!

Orla Rose – Portrait Shoot, Tunbridge Wells

Portrait shoots are always great fun and with kids can be unpredictable – you never know what’s going to happen, so you’re always kept on your toes!  I have done quite a few portrait shoots over the past year, particularly with kids and babies.  I might be biased but here is one of my niece – I love this shot that I took towards the end of the shoot.

Ian & Sarah’s Wedding – Cooden Beach Hotel, Bexhill

Another seaside wedding! This time we weren’t so lucky with the weather but we managed to get some nice shots on the beach in the evening as the sun was going down.  The light at this time of day can be magical!  George, Ian’s son, asked me to take some pictures of him and his little sister – this one made me giggle!
